For up to date information regarding the Appleton Village Surgery relocation, please see the Appleton Village Surgery website.
Appleton Village Surgery has started building a brand-new GP surgery for its patients in the New Year. The building the practice is currently housed in is over 100 years old and has served the surgery and the patients well but is unfortunately no longer fit for purpose. The present building does not meet the current and future requirements for patients. Nor does it meet the accessibility requirements laid out by the Disability Equality Act 2010.
The new build will be a purpose-built facility located at Fir Park. It is hoped that the practice will relocate at the end of 2020.
The benefits the new build will bring patients include:
- A modern, well maintained space
- Better access for disabled people and parents with children
- Car parking on-site
- Potential to offer more services in the future
- Ability to attract more medical staff to work at the practice in the future
What does this mean for current patients of Appleton Village Surgery?
When the practice relocates to the new building, patients will remain registered with their practice. Patients have the option to register with a different practice if they wish to, providing they live in the catchment area of the GP practice they wish to move to.
